The New Clock Brocksford 5 in Metallic blue now available to view burning live in our showroom. A very impressive stove and exactly the quality we would expect to find with Clock Woodburners. A 5kw stove which is super controllable, has a magnetic door latch and suitable for installations with a distance of 150mm to combustibles. I think this is certainly one of our favourites.

Whilst the weather is a little gloomy and a lot of you will be lighting your stoves this evening I thought it might be a good idea to show you the method we use to light a stove.

So Make sure that there is plenty of air supply by opening the secondary and primary air inlet controls fully on your wood burning stove.

At the bottom, you’ll place two logs so they are parallel to each other.

Place a firelighter between the logs and put some kindling across the logs.

Light the Fire.

Once the fire is well established and the kindling is black we would then add a small log over the top.

Once the stove is up to temperature (20/30mins in) you can then shut the primary control fully) once the room is up to temperature you can then use the secondary control to regulate the burn rate.

A good tip when it’s very cold outside and the chimney is full of cold air is to add an extra firefighter but place it on top of your kindling stack. This will help heat the chimney quickly and push out the cold air from the flue which can often act as a bung

One of today’s installations for a special customer in Ystalyfera, Swansea. A Westfire Uniq 37 large wood-burning stove with leathered Granite hearth and matt black Twin wall flue system. The bacon sandwiches and a beer in the sun made for a cracking day.

A recent installation in Frome. Replaced a gas fire with this very efficient Woodwarm Phoenix Firebright multi fuel stove. An inset appliance is a great option for these smaller sized fireplaces, saving on building works to enlarge the opening and keeping the original fireplace surround. We also added the Bath stone kerb.
